NYFW Series (1/3) : Victoria Beckham, Tibi, Yeezy X Adidas Originals

Lavish wrap coats, luxe knitwear with ballooning sleeves, sculptural funnel necks and large horn buttons not what comes to mind when you first think ex-Spice Girl. VB has undoubtedly took her eponymous label in a new "fresher and sexier" as the described, direction. Her minimal aesthetic of muted hues is interrupted with splashes of Navy and Burnt Orange. She tells the Telegraph "I wanted a new translation of the dress - I wanted a sexy dress." and she certainly delivered.

Inspired by Inuit culture and Arctic habitats- Amy Smilovic sums up this collection as "long, lean silhouettes mixed with coziness." The collection exhibited was full of pared-down evening wear options. Enter the Culottes; setting your ankles free in 2015, the silhouette of the season is presented here in Wool, Denim and Jersey. Earthy neutrals, pastels and greys are used creating the perfect foundations for minimal colour blocking. Touch and feel come into play throughout with Intarsia and Mohair knits, Shearling jackets complimenting the fuss-free silhouettes.

Leading Lord of all that is Pop Culture, Kanye West presents a collection that no one was expecting. Mega brand Adidas team up with self-proclaimed "Yeezus" to form the creative fusion that is Yeezy Season One. A Military feel was evident as the intentional surrealist staging, darkened room and formation of the models. Dubbed as "insane" by Bloomberg I feel like I might be the only person who actually loves this? Styled with nude body stockings, wig caps and see through skin-coloured crops caused controversy much like Kanye West himself is known for.
