The Row Pre-Fall 2015

Just as I was getting over the perfection that is The Row Fall 2014 RTW Collection; The Olsens deliver another stellar collection in complete contrast to the previous. "Our last Pre-Fall Collection was dark and heavy" says Ashley Olsen - 50% of the designing duo. This collection acknowledges references from the 60's and 70's with a subtle hint of California Surf with the use of neoprene textures, pool sliders and zip fastenings.

This is a new direction for The Row however the clean silhouette, minimal accents and luxury materials are all unique hallmarks of the Olsen twins. A muted colour palette consisting of ivory, mocha, grey, lilac, butter, powder blue, navy, burgundy and black is used throughout reflecting the gentle California surf feel.

The focus for this collection is again described by Ashley - "This season, it was important for us to explore weight and colour in the right way". Enter the impeccable, sleek lineup of shapes: capes, drawstring trousers, culottes, collarless linen jackets, fine gage knits, cropped cigarette trousers, fur stoles, ribbed knits and tunic dresses. In true Olsen style accessories and footwear were kept minimal and of course uber-chic. Simple shoulder bags and clutches with Pool slides and the occasional fur stole.

Take a bow The Row: it comes as no surprise to me that yet again I am lusting after each and every piece from this collection but the chances of me owning any of it in the foreseeable future are slim to none.
